Why are there different grits of diamond rods?
The V-Sharp comes with 325 grit diamond rods. The optional rods are 600 grit diamond and 1000 grit diamond. These optional rods make you edge finer and smoother. The only reason we would suggest the optional rods is if you work with leather and/or taxidermy. For kitchen, hunting & fishing, the 325 grit that is included in the V-Sharp is all you need.
