Why are there different fees for Parking Permits?
North Sydney residents have raised protection of the environment as an important issue. Improvement in air quality and reduction in Greenhouse gas emissions are goals for the Council. North Sydney Council charges different fees for its resident parking permits, based on the environmental impact of the vehicle, which is based on the fuel consumption, greenhouse rating, and theair pollution rating of the vehicle. The sliding scale for resident parking is aimed at encouraging improvements in these areas.
