We have received a number of enquires asking why the Liverpool event is free to all while attendance at the Manchester evenings requires a modest annual membership fee for all non-core companies (eg professional advisors, consultants and suppliers). This split process relates to the special ‘ring fenced’ funding we have in Merseyside until the middle of this year. This funding covers the full cost of the events in Liverpool whereas we have to raise the majority of the basic costs for our Manchester network evenings (excluding the venue itself, which is kindly provided free of charge by UMIC Ltd). This is done through the membership fees but we ensure it is FREE for core companies. It is expected that similar arrangements for both events will apply once the Merseyside fund expires and we will advise accordingly.
