A.14: All of the differences in the “Newcitst” field are purely for 911 purposes. These are Town names that are in the ALI (Automatic Location Identifier) database and also in the ALI MSAG (Master Street Address Guide). E 9-1-1 created that field to accommodate both. The GIS data needed to reflect what is in the ALI identically so there is a field that incorporates the “Virtual Town” names and upon export pulls the spelling that is in synch with the ALI database. The “Newcitst” Town names also have there own unique ESZ’s Emergency Service Zones which is an area that is covered by a unique combination of Emergency Service Agencies, (LAW, Fire, and EMS). They are a combination of actual Town name spelling differences and village names.
