Why are there differences between Bristol City Councils noise map and DEFRAs?

0

The two maps were produced independently of one another. DEFRA commissioned consultants to produce the noise map for the Bristol “Agglomeration”. This includes areas outside Bristol. Data was supplied to consultants by DEFRA. The Bristol City Council map was produced by the Sustainable City Group in the council using data collected internally and covers Bristol only. The different sources of input data in the models accounts for the different sound levels on each map.
