Why are there 2 lines for City of Yakima taxes on my Pacific Power utility bill?
The 6% utility tax is tiered into 2 levels. 4% is charged up to a maximum of $4,000 for any one customer in a calendar month. 2% is charged on the total bill. Even though your account may never reach $4,000, the power company has to set up its billing that way to charge the tax properly for all customers.
