Why are the windows in a synagogue always above eye level?
In the Middle Ages, when it was common for windows to be placed at eye level, non-Jews often looked in and mocked the worshippers. It was decided that the windows would be high enough so no one could look in. Chapter 7 addresses Posture and Prayer including gestures, not kneeling on the floor but bowing at the knees and why some prayers are said standing. Chapter 8 addresses The Sabbath, which has been central in Jewish life. From biblical times onward it has been observed as a day of rest and spiritual rejuvenation. Those who observe the Sabbath in modern times do so from sunset on Friday night to sunset on Saturday. The level of observance depends on what sect they follow.
