Why are the unionists so scared of an independant Scotland?

"living from handouts"  Should the Scots become independent;   the North Sea Oil rigs would be owned BY Scotland as it sits in ‘SCOTTISH’ waters (first drilled by scots about 1970) provide the UK with 1/5th THATS 1 FIFTH (stats from not that long ago)!!! Guess where the taxs goes, yip you have, then it swings back round again and Im pretty sure it should too, although its disguised as the rather condesending ‘handout’ word. Now what percentage of people live in Scotland out  of the UK? mmmmm not alot, then surely that oil should last scotland quite some time, yes? Perhaps some of the trouble, well i say trouble, im just observing really, that loads of (I mean LOADS) of Scots have given up on Scotland moved away to sunny Spain/Magaluf/Bulgaria or wherever selling their place to a white settler from down south. So of course perhaps they feel attached to England and subconciously feel it would be a bad move to vote for independence from the country they came from. …..there, hope i got all ma words in the right order.
