Why are the Tibetan monks revolting?

0

China invaded Tibet in the 1950’s, burned their monasteries and murdered religious folk by the thousands. Monks were put in work camps and starved to death. China is now systematically destroying and polluting Tibetan holy places, sacred lakes and mountains — as though they had a map of the most sacred spots in the country. For whatever reasons, the world has rewarded China with the Beijing Olympics. As the spotlight comes into focus on this part of the world, the Tibetans want to remind us of what has — and is now — being done to exterminate Tibetan culture and faith.

I don’t like their outfits, but I’d hardly call them revolting. They’re protesting “Chinese oppression.” Specifically that they are ultimately trying to destroy their religious culture.

They are revolting because the Chinese are trying to eleiminate their religion.
