Why are the skid plates made of steel rather than aluminum?
Though aluminum is frequently used by other manufacturers, we have found it is too soft (scratches or dents more easily), is more difficult to repair should damage occur (must be buffed out or refinished rather than just touched-up with paint), and steel is easier to care for (bugs/dirt come off readily and the finish deteriorates less with age).
