Why are the sample cuvettes used with the spectrophotometer matched?

0

They are matched so the thickness of the glass through which the light passes is the same for all cuvettes. Also the diameter of the tubes is the same so the length of the pathway the light travels through the sample is always the same. This way differences in absorbance of two samples cannot be due to these two factors.
