Andy Cleburne, TX. Age: 29 Answer: When you build a piece of space hardware you have to set target for how long you want it to keep working so you know how strong and durable to make the hardware. If you set it too long parts get heavier and more expensive, etc. You also need to set a target of how long the operations team is going to be up and running. We expect the rovers will last much longer than 90 days, but that’s our target duration for the design and planning.
