Why are the research awards much more expensive than the TESOL coursework programmes?
Research courses are much more demanding than coursework units. They are also more labour intensive as research candidates work closely with their supervisor. The college is also required to pay a fee to the examiner/s of each dissertation. These fees can range in the hundreds of dollars, depending on the examiner appointed. The examiner’s fee/s are paid for by the college and they are also subsidised by the college.
