Why are the radius search mileage and the route mileage so different?

Your search results are based on a straight line starting at the origin you entered and extending out the number of miles you entered in all directions. Your search results are not based on driving miles. When you click on the number in the “DIS FRM” column on the search results page you get driving miles. There may be a big difference.
