This has caused some residents to have their municipal address incorrectly indicate that they live in the wrong location leading to difficulties with mail and courier deliveries, and in some cases access to emergency services. By changing the postal identifier to Burlington and the postal codes to reflect that change, the rural area will have the same type of mail delivery as the rest of Burlington. 2. How did this process start? This process began in 2005 with the local councillors and members of Parliament meeting with representatives from Canada Post to discuss the issue of address confusion.
