Why are the police so corrupt?
I think EVERY policing situation is different. YOUR personal experience of racism, sexism and rudeness is not the norm. 1) There are towns and cities where a police officer can be a nice person during 80% of his daily routine. 2) In other areas, every officer may feel like he is a part of a mini SWAT team. There are officers online here (Y!A) who may NEVER experience the harsh realities of being a city cop in hostile environments. They will feel offended by your generalizations without realizing that it IS YOUR reality. I respectfully believe that most ‘serious’ city Police Officers are pessimists. They are TRAINED to be cynical of everything (except other members of the police force who they have to trust). The cynicism is just a consequence of the environment. I am not saying its RIGHT, but they are human beings. We absorb and adabt to stay alive! If you heard and saw people lie to YOU everyday how would it affect YOU?
