Opposition believes that implementation of these B&P sections creates the same, if not greater consumer protections that Mandated CE is purported to accomplish – only more cost effectively and with a testing component. Economy: The state of our national and state economy is affecting everyone in areas we haven’t yet fully experienced. Nationally, we are in struggling in a recession and the way our state economy is moving, we are heading towards major additional cutbacks, lay-offs and higher taxes. The aspects of our economy have great impact upon our individual businesses. Further, we have no idea how much any of the courses will cost or where they would be given. Proponents have minimized this aspect of the program with a “trust us as we go” attitude which we find irresponsible and unacceptable.
