Why are the masons not liked by many people?
They are liked by most people, its just a very few, very active people who don’t like them. most of the negative stuff here on Yahoo Answers comes from a few people with several ID’s. to some others: * While individual freemasons might participate in the Orange Walks, it is not a masonic sponsored activity, etc… freemason history does not come from william the orange 🙂 * freemasonry does not preach anything, in particular salvation… if you think this you misunderstand freemasonry * freemasons don’t invite you to join, you have to ask to join, there is no secrecy — that is a myth created by the few anti-masons * they are neither sexist nor racist (however there is to this day some racism in the USA but that is for societal reasons, not masonic reasons). they tend NOT to be very wealthy, they are viewed as cult-like which in its modern negative connotation is not accurate at all. * Mr ex mason has had a unique experience in masonry then as most are not in the top section/strata of
They are typically very racist and sexist (more sexist than racist). They tend to be very wealthy and have been viewed as “cult-like”. Many religious groups forbid their members to become Free Masons because of the sketchy things the Masons do. I’m not saying all Masons are like this but that is the stereotype behind them.
Well, there’s a lot of misconceptions and rumors about masons. There are after all many many millions of them. A lot of masonic lodges support charities and do good things in their communities. Some people tend to think masons are like the “Illuminati” and have tremendous power and operate massive conspiracies across the world. They have too much time on their hands.
