Why are the Indian Muslims and the Muslims around the world backward?

Muslims feel their economic and educational backwardness is due to alleged discriminatory policies of the Indian government. To address this issue of Muslim backwardness, let me go back to the days of Aurangzeb when the India has been ruled by the Muslims for almost five centuries — 479 years to be more exact.
