Why are the front tractor tire valves located on the inside of the rim?
The tire valves were moved to the inside of the front tire rims in an effort to prevent them from accidentally becoming damaged when the tractor is maneuvered in close proximity around fences, bushes, trees or other objects that pose a risk and can damage these valves. This was not a concern with the rear tires, as they seldom come as close to these objects and have deeper rims, therefore the rear valves remain on the outside of the rims. Although some people may feel that the location is not the most accessible for checking tire pressure or inflating, this minor inconvenience far outweighs the possible expenses due to damaged or flat tires. To fill front tires with air, simply turn the steering wheel all the way in one direction. Then service the tire from the front of the unit. Then repeat this for the opposite front tire.
