Why are the Deals moving Successful Stepfamilies to Amarillo?
Successful Stepfamilies was born from the local family ministry that Ron led in Jonesboro, Arkansas for 11 years. That ministry equipped families of all types (biological, single parent, and stepfamily) for healthy Christian living; it also included support groups and Rons counseling ministry through the Better Life Counseling Center. Rons first seminar for stepfamilies was in 1996. By 1999 Ron was presenting a few seminars each year. Next month, however, Ron will begin presenting two stepfamily conferences each month in order to meet the demand of churches around the country. This, and managing the Successful Stepfamilies web page, media interviews, and research/writing opportunities led Ron and his wife this past January to resign his role as family life minister at the Southwest church in Jonesboro effective July 15th.
