Why are the black rappers coming up with ridiculous songs these days (ie Soulja boy)?
Firstly, I wouldn’t categorize it as ‘black’ rappers because that is a racist/stereotype comment you are making, thus generalizing all African American rappers. I do agree that Soulja Boy’s lyrics are unethical, however, so are songs such as Loser, I Want Your Sex, Erotic, Like a Virgin, Sexy Back etc. What I suggest you do is, go to www.lyrics.com and read the lyrics of songs to see the true meaning behind them. Hopefully this will stop you from generalizing a whole race. Thanks for specifying at the end that you respect other African American rappers, but point blank, your first statement didn’t sound like you respected anyone. Food for thought, when you write a statement, really think how you might be affecting the reader. I am not African American or White, however your comment was offensive. I understand that each of us are entitled to our own opinion, however, we also have to respect fellow people.
