Why are the adapter spacers of different lengths?

These extensions are used to connect the motor shaft or the gearbox output to the propeller hub. These parts are important because the fixation holes depend on the type and model of the engine. In some cases, they are not even needed. It is essential to know the exact specifications of the engine and the aircraft in order to know if it is required to buy an adaptor spacer or whether the propeller assembly can be mounted directly on the engine shaft. The length of the extension guarantees that the mounting plate of the propeller spinner does not come into contact with the engine or gearbox cowling.
