Why Are The 7th And 10th Commandment Apart But They e Almost The Same?
“You shall not steal” is the 8th commandment and has to do with property rights. More than 8% of people in a big store are likely to be stealing. But a quarter of those who are not, believe that it is acceptable to remain silent if that store undercharges them, but they wouldn’t let a small corner shop be cheated in that way. You see how confused our double-standards make us? This is why the 10th commandment is rightly at the end. It ties all the preceeding moral laws of God together, showing that the big sin at back of them all has to do with how we think. Our thinking can become like sewerage due to the garbage that the media would fill our minds with. We are actively encouraged to covet by it. Coveting is not what we do, it is what we plan to do, what we want, what we dream about. This is a ‘catch-all’ commandment because every evil action starts in our mind.
