Why are teen parents disrespected?
It’s not so much disrespect as it is we know that your choices were not responsible ones. You can’t really expect people to say “there goes a model citizen” when you become a teenage mom. To be honest, you seem to make yourself and other teen moms out to be saints when the truth is that your situations could have been all together avoided by being responsible and not having sex. You don’t work twice as hard. Most of the time I see the government doing the work for you through WIC, Medicaid and other government assistance programs that are meant for people who are responsible, married and need temporary assistance due to hardships. I’m really tired of my tax dollars going to pay for *your* baby. I don’t want to support your child, I want to support mine. I know you cannot be completely supporting yourself with no help.
