Why are students being asked to submit an electronic AND paper version of their thesis?

0

There are many benefits to capturing an electronic version of the University’s theses. Primarily, it allows for the more effective dissemination of this valuable research output. Also electronic versions of theses are much easier and more effectively searched than traditional paper versions. The majority of examiners, however, still prefer to examine theses in paper format because of the portability, convenience and ease of annotation that the paper format allows. It is for this reason that BOTH an electronic version and paper versions of theses are required for a full and successful submission.
