Why are students being asked to submit an electronic AND paper version of their dissertation?
There are many benefits to capturing an electronic version of the university’s dissertations. Primarily, it allows for the more effective preservation than currently exists for bound print dissertations. The majority of examiners, however, still prefer to examine dissertations in paper format because of the portability, convenience and ease of annotation that the paper format allows. It is for this reason that BOTH an electronic version and paper versions of dissertations are required for a full and successful submission.
