Why are some people against cloning?
Most the objection come from the uneducated and or religious groups, I think that is self explanatory. People don’t realize we have been using cloned animals and plants for years. In America most of the corn used to feed livestock is cloned. So, it is a muted point. Now if you are referring to cloned people, that’s different. The likely hood of that occurring are pretty slim, at least for now. The problem is the uneducated and religious people don’t seem to mind standing in the way of advancements in science. Kinda illogical, most of the people on Earth today are touched and benefit from science in some fashion.
Well, one of the reasons that people are against cloning is religion because for Catholics, cloning is against their God because they believe that only their God can create life and cloning is like playing God. Another is that the military might take advantage of it and might make a clone army to take over the rest of the nations in the world. Another is that the clones might take advantage of us and take over the world. Another is that you need to feed more and get more space.
There is always an assumption that only religious people can be extreme. On the other hand, most people assume that all scientists have only good intentions. I am glad that there are these checks and balances because there are people out there who will do anything. I am amazed that students of science act like science is all righteous yet you know through your reading that horrible experiments have been performed eg. on orphans, infants, mentally disables, African Americans even as late as 1970s. You would be shocked if you read NAZI Era science, where there were no holds. Religion has done some tremendous evils too but I hope I made the point that you need not assume that all science is noble.
