Why are some “natural” soaps not 100% natural?
Products labeled “natural” are not regulated by any agency or body. Most “natural” standards state that a natural product must contain at least 95% all natural ingredients. However, the other 5% of the ingredients can be synthetic. Most of those non-natural ingredients that are used by “natural” soapmakers are fragrances. Fragrance oils are NOT natural. They are formulated in a laboratory using man-made chemicals. So you may be getting 95% natural, but you’re also getting 5% chemical.
