Why are some film scenes shot against a blue background?
Scenes are shot against blue or green backgrounds so that the backgrounds can be removed and all other elements of the scene can be laid over the background of another scene (such as a sky when superman is flying or space when a spaceship is flying). The key is making sure no other elements in the scene have blue or green (as the case may be).
