Why are so Many of the Republican Candidates Distancing Themselves from President Bush?
If you watch the coverage for the 2008 Presidential Election, you will hear five words repeated over and over again. Usually the opposing party of the current President only uses these words. For varying reason, the Republican are using the words, “Unlike the current President, I,” more often then many analysts would have believed. With the fact that the current President, George Bush, is a Republican, it is not surprising to here the words, “Unlike the current President, I,” from Democrats. What is surprising is that almost every Republican candidate for the 2008 Presidential Election has said the words multiple times. With the fact that George Bush has had very low approval ratings for the last few years, it is not a surprise that the Republicans that are running for President would want to further themselves from his mistakes as much as possible.
