Why are so many houses in Ireland the same shade of buttery yellow?”

I actually just recently did a class on Irish Culture here at Cornell. The reason quite a few houses use this color is that a corn enzyme with a name that starts with a ‘g’ (I seem to have forgotton the exact scientific name) is found more in Ireland than anywhere else in the world. This enzyme is used in mixing paints. Yellow paint is then commonly the cheapest color to buy at local Irish hardware stores because the enzyme is still found today. Very interesting indeed!
