Why are so many health care workers and professionals against universal health care?
I am a health care worker, and I am steadfastly against universal healthcare for many reasons. It has nothing to do with money ~ as someone else mentioned you do not go into health care to get rich. Trust me there are better ways to make money then spending 12 hours a day dealing with people’s blood and other bodily fluids! The main reason I am against it is that quality of care would decline dramatically. We are already dealing with shortages of staff and supplies ~ put the government in charge and we’re in big trouble! The second is that hospitals are already over taxed by people flocking into ER’s for absolutely assinine reasons…..at least insurance companies curb that a bit by requiring people to call for approval before non-emergent visits. Make it their “right” to go and hospitals across the country are going to be over run with BS visits to the ER. Lastly, people now a days believe they are entitled to everything regardless of the cost…..put Universal Healthcare in there and
Because they know about how other countries are that have universal health care. It is not as good as the USA, and other countries that don’t have it. Instead of having just your regular Dr., and then being referred to a specialist, you can be seeing a different Dr. every time you need to go in. There are other reasons as well. From what I understand it is not the best health care system. Take care.
