Today, you have such great airlift capacity: close proximity is No. 1; No. 2 is affordability. A lot of Americans are concerned about their retirement and Medicare and Social Security. If they have a limited amount of money or disposable income, where is it going to go the farthest? That’s why Panama is the No. 1 retirement destination in the world for Americans. Mexico is No. 4. The reason that those two countries today are at the forefront for retirees would be proximity, affordability, cost of living, infrastructure, health care … taxes are very low.
