Why are slips and trips a problem?
Slips, trips and falls at work can lead to serious injuries and time off work. The estimated cost to employers is £512 million a year. There are on average 2 fatalities a year due to slips and trips; and accidents due to slips, trips and falls account for 33% of all reported major injuries. This hazard is a particular problem if you have other people in your workplace, such as pupils and parents, as your school is also responsible for their health and safety while they are on the school premises.
