Seminole County public schools will be closed Wednesday, makeup day set posted by Orlando Sentinel on Aug 19, 2008 4:11:16 PM Dave Weber, Sentinel Staff Writer: SANFORD – Seminole County public schools will be closed Wednesday, school district officials have announced. Officials had hoped to reopen the schools, which were closed today because of Tropical Storm Fay. But they said slow progress of the storm, which has not yet reached Central Florida, coupled with possible high winds and an unpredictable path for the storm caused them to order schools closed for a second day. Officials said the makeup day for Wednesday would be Nov. 24., cutting into the first day of the a planned week-long Thanksgiving vacation. They already had announced Oct. 23 as makeup day for today’s closure, nipping a day from fall break. Sources: http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/news_weather_hurricane/2008
