Why are scottish people so pale?
Although paleness used to be thought of as a sign of royalty, it was probably more related to evolving in an area that had little sun, thus making life more a struggle due to lack of vegetables that could grow in the little sun. Therefore those who survived in that culture were the strong of the strong, thus making paleness a symbol of strength and aristrocracy. While most other cultures lived in sunny fruital regions, producing lots of food, it had a danpening effect on their growth. It was only through the extreme conditions of food and sun deprivation that the Scottish who survived became stronger yet, and, of course, always pale, with little sun there.
