Why are Schober dies through hardened and CNC finished?
• As we specialized on cutting through the materials onto a hardened anvil, a solid hardened die supplies the best amount of cuts between re-sharpening. • Before the numerically controlled technology was available, the manufacturing of rotary dies was a slow, manual and inconsistent process. Lifetime cycles were totally unpredictable. Today the dies can be reworked and re-manufactured to preset parameters and programs with hardly any manual work involved. This has increased the product quality and made the dies predictably better in the amount of cuts they supply.
