It is much faster to publish with a print-on-demand publisher, but there is still the stigma of being self-published. If you look at many of the self-published titles out there, they have misspelled words, bad grammar, have poor cover designs, and generally aren’t well-written. This is why the stigma continues. But, if you produce a good quality product, and it is well-written, with attention to spelling and grammar, and with a professional-looking cover, the average reader won’t know the difference.
