why are Republicans opposed to increasing the minimum wage?
Simple. The result is more money in the pockets of the working poor and a decrease in corporate profits. Both of these results are anathema to the Republican agenda. It cracks me up whenever one of you right-wing nutcases claims the Democrats want to keep poor people poor so they will continue to vote Democratic. The reality is that the Republicans block every attempt to improve the economic status of the working poor. And who is attempting to improve the economic status of the working poor? The Democrats, of course. Excuse me dumbass, wages go up, prices go up… today labor is the largest factor in the cost of an item either widget or hamburger it matters not, the corporations who have to pay unemployment insurance & social security based on WAGES actually have more money flowing out of the corporation…. lets not twist this little tidbit.
