Why are renewable resources so important?
The concept of “renewable resources” as arbitrarily defined by the environmental movement is important to that movement since it provides them with a means of influencing public thought and policy over which they would otherwise have little or no control. By contrasting renewable resources and the other concept of non-renewable resources, it makes the assumption that man has dominated nature to the extent that it is unable restore itself to a pre-industrialized state or better.
