Why are QCA trialling a new test for 2002?
The decision to replace the progress test is in response to the early feedback we have had from schools that the Year 7 progress test is not close enough to what children are being taught in Year 7. 2001 was the first year the progress test was available and we are listening and responding to the issues that have been raised. QCA routinely invite schools to trial the development of new tests.
