Why are poor people less likely to survive a volcanic eruption?
I don’t know why others haven’t already said this as it’s basic logic. Poor people cannot afford equipment which could help withstand or enable you to retreat. For example, poor people cannot afford cars – which could be needed to escape an eruption. Poor people are not going to have the houses which can withstand eruptions the most. Poor people are unlikley to be in touch with people who know it’s going to erupt in the next couple of days (i.e. a person who knew might know from a computer, which poor people can’t afford). That’s all I could think of, hope it helps.
