Why are plastic and cardboard not collected from the kerbside?
Earlier this year we asked the public to give us feedback on the services we provide, the introduction of plastic and cardboard collections was raised by many people. We therefore investigated the possibility of introducing such collections, along with other suggestions that were made. During this process we identified a number of problems that would need to be addressed in order to do this, including the type of containers that would need to be used, the integration of collections with our existing services and the requirement for a contractor to handle the materials collected.
