Why are people worrying about david ortiz?
A lot of people approach baseball with a football mentality – they feel like performance over a few games will have a significant impact on the rest of the season. It’s really not a big deal as long as his slump isn’t coming from a something physically wrong. It doesn’t seem like he’s working through any injuries, so I’d imagine he’s fine. I think part of it is also extremely high expectations. He’s one of the best hitters on the most dominate team of the past few years, so there is a lot of added pressure. Fortunately the Red Sox have plenty of other strong hitters to keep the team going.
