I totally respect and agree with what your saying. People tend to only point out the positives such as obtaining a dog/cat that is already altered, and hopefully vaccinated, and MAYBE potty-trained, they neglect to mention some of the negative issues that tend to be associated with a rescue dogs, especially those dogs/cats who have not had the luxury of being rescued by a group & placed in foster homes. Unless the dog/cat was voluntarily surrendered due to unforseen circumstances, then they usually have back-grounds that have negative effects on the rest of their lives. Please don’t misunderstand me, I totally support those who are able to open their homes to these dogs/cats, but for the majority of the families looking to obtain a new pet, its not always safe to open their homes to a lot of these potential pets. For instance, due to my experience with unsociallized dogs, I would not consider adopting a rescue/shelter dog unless it was a young adult dog who was voluntarily surrendered
