Why are people who have had the vaccine getting sick?
As we said earlier, the vaccine only ‘takes’ in 80% (if one dose) to 90% (if two doses) of those who get vaccinated. That means that 10% – 20% of those who get the vaccine can still get the disease, but it is harder for the disease to spread because so many people are protected from it. If the the vaccine wasn’t regularly used, the outbreak would affect everyone instead of just a small percentage of the population. Back to the top.
