Why are people so stupid to believe that animals “born in captivity” are happy?
I recently went to a zoo and they had a perfectly healthy harpy eagle in a relatively small enclosure. This eagle was going crazy because it could not fully spread his wings and fly. He would literally fly to the cage wall plant his feet on the wall and turn around and fly back in the opposite direction to get some exercise. I do love animals and I love the zoo. But yes I do agree with you that most of those animals look pretty somber to me especially the large flying birds and primates. It’s funny how arrogant most people are. To think animals don’t have emotions but to have a dog that you love is totally arrogant and self centered. Martin Luther King once said it pains some people to think. As we see in most of these answers he is right in his analysis.
