Why are people so snobbish when it comes to music?
I’m completely with you. The best artists become that way by mixing different genres together to form things that are completely original. Leave the labels to Warhol, the only thing it hurts is the music… And I think that a lot of the reason that the music injdustry is circling the drain right now is because of such “music snobs”. I’m not saying that there isn’t music that I find stupid, but if someone else enjoys it and it makes them feel something special then what place do I have to criticize that, seriously? And yeah, there are bands that I listened to as a “tween” that I look back on now and think quietly to myself, “and just how much arsenic was on that playground?”, but that’s a part of who we are as individuals, it’s like every photograph I have of myself from eight grade that makes me squirm.
