Why are people so pathetic about breeding?
Look at it this way: If you knew that you had some horrible disease while you were young, say that it would kill you by the time you were thirty, would you want to have a child if the likelihood that your son/daughter was going to have this disease was even 50%? Would you willingly want to jeopardize the life of your child to be doomed to die long before their time, knowing that such options like adoption were available to you? How are getting breeder/pet store/random rabbits for free any better than getting a shelter animal? You have no idea the history of these animals. It doesn’t matter if it’s a baby. That is only a very, very small part of it. What were the parents like? Are they still alive? If not, how did they die? What were their offspring like? A shelter can tell you how the animal behaves around people, if they’ve shown any signs of possible problems. Sure it can’t tell you exactly where the animal came from and what their lives were like, but neither can most other location
